34 years in NHS as a nurse....looking forward to my pension. If the goverment doesn't ruin it!

beets need to be cool enough to handle....rubbing off skins. Put into jars . Then add your spiced vinegar hot. Seal jar. As it cools it will form a vacuum

just reading Andy's comment about vit B. has anyone tried the old remedy of eating marmite? If so have you noticed any difference?
Monday evening was a particularly bad evening at the lottie for mosquitoes and midges. I was bitten well and truly!

My kale is doing well also. This year I have planted for the first time borlotti and just starting to produce. Now, I really do have some small plums for the first time this year!!

can't beat the asda sauce for price but sainsburys do a very good curry sauce for 9p. Surely the jar cost more to manufacture?

I bought a blackberry for the lottie about 2-3 yrs ago. This year it has really taken off and I was looking forward to blackberries. I thought it rather early to be flowering and fruiting but hey......it is NOT a blackberry. It is not a loganberry or tayberry either. My only thought is a boysenberry...

Just finished cooking a £1.80 ham hock very slowly. Now falling off the bone....
That will be stock for soup and ham for another meal. Delish
