We have just polished off a "store-cupboard meal" of rice, pasta sauce, onion, peas, chopped pork and herbs all cooked together then tipped into an oven dish, topped with cheese and stuck in the oven for half an hour!

Popped some into my venison casserole the other day and it was yummy. There is enough there to keep us in garlic for the year!

Tons of wild garlic - any ideas?
The slope behind my house is COVERED in wild garlic so I am going to dry some, preserve some in oil as a paste and make pesto. Any other ideas for me?

Venison casserole tonight. Just popped it in the slow cooker with the beef stock I had simmered overnight. We are going to be outside a lot today so a hearty (and no fuss) meal for when we are shattered!

Tonight we are on baked chicken legs/thighs (reduced to £2.50 fot organic) with spicy wedges and corn on the cob!

I make them by slicing the potatoes into wedges and tossing them in oil then sprinkling them with the smoked paprika, garlic granules and seasoning then toss that too. Pop them on an oven sheet and bake for around 30 minutes. Don't know what people in england do with smoked paprika but here in Scotl...

Veggie cheese burgers with my homemade potato wedges (made with oil, garlic and hot smoked paprika) and my lovely Toby's fabulous onion rings!

I would contact the school again and tell the head that no matter which magic sky fairy he/she believes in it is not appropriate to focus on it in a school. Schools are for teaching not superstition. Does the head also teach that black cats are unlucky, not to walk under a ladder etc?

Thank goodness we had experimented previously as at 8.45pm on Saturday the power went out and has only just gone back on.
Soooooo my lovely Toby made sausage, fried tatties and tattie scones for lunch, veggie sausage and cheese melts for supper and lashings of tea all day to keep us going

Tonight for us is a mad mixture. One portion of broth and one of venison casserole both from the freezer and happily bubbling away together in the slow cooker!

Tartex is a vegan pate! Lots of different flavours and it is yummy.
The fishfingers have to be hot so that the butter in the roll melts and the tartre sauce or mayo goes all warm and gooey!

Okay I know I am in a minority but yes I AM reliant on fossil fuels as I live on an island and it would be a heck of a swim to get to the mainland and back for work. I will happily walk to our (only) shop when I can but I am not going to do it in the rain, sleet and snow to satisfy someone else's op...

I enjoy the herb flavoured tartex! I also used to quite like a cornflake and sliced tomato roll.
