Tested it this morning, after spending a few hours sighting the tunnels over me noo seeds yesterday .... The best way it seems is to use a hose with a spray nozzle, or if you tred on yours and break it like I did this morning   .... then a thumb over the end of hose will do to create a fi...

I'm just about to put some broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce and carrot seeds under fleece polytunnels and I was wondering what the best way to water the soil and once grown, the actual plants would be? Can I just use me watering can and pour it over the fleece itself or will I need to remove the tunne...

Getting rid of slugs ... create a moat?

I remember reading last year sometime an article on getting rid of slugs from a vegetable garden, and it proposed to surround the vegetable plot with lengths of guttering to form a square and fill this with water ... almost creating a moat around the vegetables! Tomatoes in a growbag

Hi peepz,

Newbie to vegetable growing here, and I was wondering if I can just put some tomatoes seeds I have brought straight into a grow bag or do I have to put them into pots first, let them grow a little then put them in the grow bag?

Thanks

Hi Martin, Thanks for the quick replies! Nope, didn't remove the plate at the top of the stove, it's still there! Just a note, I did try a couple of fires with the grate still in, however, they were'nt very good/didn't pumped out alot of heat and made me think that it was just a coal fire ... also, ...

My fire is not pumping out alot of heat, can you help??

Hi peepz, I've just recently moved into a new property (rented) and it has a wood/coal fire in the living room which is not pumping out alot of heat. I've taken out the grates at the bottom of the fire so we could get a bed of wood ash built up, which we thought might be the cause of the lack of hea...
