Hello Sarah,
we lived in Jersey for 1 year. It's a nice island, weather is good but it was too small for us. You know, we are from continent

Re: Daily Telegraph article on solar power
Not normally a reader of the telegraph but somehow I get emails from them which included an advert for their Green section. I found the article on Solar Power interesting so I thought I would pass it on. The comments underneath it are interesting as well. Hope the link works okay. http://www.telegr...

I checked with a vendor at a home show and he told me for my 1000 sq ft house just to run the hoses in the ground and the upgrade to the electric would be between $11,000 and $13,000 USD. That didn't include the equipment and a back up furnace for when it really gets cold and the unit can't keep up...

WOW that's BIG! How do you use it for photography? I'm intrigued. I have a cubelite cube and I use the bulb for illuminating the stuff. Except OurEcoHouse website I also run publicdomainpictures website ( http://www.publicdomainpictures.net ) where I put my pictures so people can use them completel...

100W CFL light bulb (500W)
I used to use 500W bulb when I was taking some pictures, so I thought, there must be an energy saving bulb somewhere I could use instead. Well I've found one on ebay, ordered it and here it is. From the left: a bulb we use in our bedroom (11W), old 500W bulb, and new 100W CFL light bulb http://www.o...

Re: I'm not a plastic bag.
It's unbelievable. They really should charge for every plastic bag like £0.10 and you would see how the usage could drop.BBC News wrote:The average Briton uses 167 plastic bags every year - 10 billion in total.

Re: Prices people can actually afford
Just a thought here. I'm sure I'm not the only one on the forum who would love a solar heating system for their water or a turbine that can actually power something, but can't afford it. £2,000 for a system is phenomenal, and far out of my range. Apart from the obvious environmental benefit, the a...

Our EcoHouse campaign
Hi everybody, we have recently started a campaign to build an ecological house and to support other people in green living. Well, we have bought from them a scarf, a soap and something else (don't remember now). Well, I wasn't very impressed when it arrived. It was loosely packed so the gift wrapping was ruined. I don't know if it was a Royal Mail fault or their but I'm still not brave enough to order again. Maybe later....

Hmm... 'Give us a million quid, and we'll give less than half of it back and use the rest to build ourselves a luxury pad'. Actually, wait, that's not a bad idea. Anyone want to buy a Muddypause Lotto ticket*? * Terms and conditions apply. Hi guys, it's me who run the site. We do not ask you to giv...
