Chadspad - oats depend on the factory they are processed in - more factories run oats through the same mills as wheat - In NZ Harroways have mills for oats only all the rest have gluten in from the wheat - oats don't actually have gluten. Hope this helps.

I understand where you are coming from, I have gained so much from this forum.

I too am a single mother in the city (suburbs we're on 1/8 acre). We now have two chooks and seedlings all over the place waiting for the ground to warm up (we're in winter).
