Hi everyone,
First post here and liking the site - came across it from the book at Waterstones. My mate Jackson in Bristol has set up a website that should be of interest: http://ecomotive.org/ Jackson built his own house at Ashley Vale in Bristol - some of you may know it: http://www.ashleyvale.org.uk/ He's very active in this arena and ecomotive seems to have lots of useful info. There was also a self-build-ish housing co-op in Bristol another friend belonged to but their website seems to have disappeared! Don't know if the group folded or what.
I am a Co-Director of GreenBristol and we have our own blog here: http://greenbristol.blogspot.com/ - mostly about green mapping. I've been thinking about self-building myself recently and the reading here is very inspirational.

Welcome to the group.... I'd imagine you could have some very interesting info.
I am in the proccess (a long drawn out process) of making my old cottage into a recycled eco-home... it would be interesting to hear what you have to say on some of these issues
