Cheapest place we found to buy nematodes is on Amazon.

There are apparently over 8000 different types. so what you found in your manure may well be. They are basically any roundworms.

We had good results in our last garden with them, but our main problem up here are snails - are they sluggy enough to be susceptible?

Nemaslug uses the nematode Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita, which is specifically a parasite of slugs. According to the guff on the packet, one application administers 300,000 nematodes per square metre and that's enough to control the slugs for six weeks.

Google Nemaslug to find UK suppliers and shop around as the price does vary.

Did a recky on the tinterweb and cheapest I found was from "The Gardeners Shop" - £9.99 to cover 40sq metres which should be enough for my needs as ive got 6 1/2 beds to cover. They are being sent out this Thursday, so slugs watch out (im hopeful they'll work on snails too as they're rife up the lottie)
