Bother!!!
All of my pepper seedlings have had their 2 leaves chewed off! There must have been over 50 of them - a right good feast for those snails
Is there any chance they will recover and continue to grow or have they had it?

The slimy little bandstands! I've often wondered about the logistics of getting an attack-hedgehog for just this reason!
I think its always worth leaving them for a few days to see what happens, I have had plants come back after being munched like this. I've also had them completely die off too...

I think you would be lucky to have them re-grow sadly. If you have any seed left I would get them in the propagator ASAP! Don't ditch the seedling yet though - they won't regrow lying in the compost bin!
A rabbit has been sneaking into our big tunnel and mowed trays of peas down to 1 inch tall. They are only just beginning to come away again after about 3 weeks. New peas sown would be been better I think!
Fingers crossed

Oh the little barstewards. Give the peppers a chance, see what happens. My problem is large, feathered and has a wife - our pheasants have taken to grazing on the carrot tops in the polytunnel. They do deposit fertilizer here and there but it doesn't make up for the carrots - another job for the old plastic milk cartons I suppose.

Cats - you just love them, don't you!Millymollymandy wrote:And I forgot and put two young sweetcorn plants on the living room windowsill and the cat promptly chewed the leaves off.Now I know why I left the others in the spare bedroom......well at least he didn't puke them up like he does grass.
I didn't have the blinds up for a couple of months in my living room, because they were protecting the seedlings on the windowsill...
