Bananas in Pyjamas!

Post: # 105041Post Wombat »

This is Mrs Wombat here! Hi Guys Thanks again for the wonderful time we had in England. It really made the trip for us. I would have throttled Nevin in the car otherwise. And I really do love him! I've shown Helen's pyjama photo to my daughter only so far and Andy of course before we left! hehehe The night we got home I woke up and thought I was still in England then remembered I was home and felt a little depressed. I will miss you all so it will be good to talk on line. 3 cheers for the 21st century and the internet. Please remember me to all your cats, pigs sheep and chooks and say hi. Poesje has only just started talking to me again. So I cuddled him unmercifully. Love to all Linda

Hi Linda - I've given my cats a good talking to for being so unsociable... But you know, folk get like that when they live in the back and beyond - not much used to visitors!

It was great to have you here - shame you live so far away. As you say, 3 cheers for the internet...

Hi Linda
Good to hear from you. Jemima is sitting on my lap at the moment which makes typing sort of interesting as the laptop is perched there as well.

How did you get on with the fantasy football?

Zoe

Hi Zoe, I won! Beat them by 186 points and over 200 thousand in the rankings. Monster- in-Laws rule! Your never alone if you have a cat. But they do like to be number 1 on the attention scale. Nevin has learned to type one handed due to being catted. :cat: Nevin has also come back all excited about the tips we learned staying with the "ishes."
He stated he was going to cook a meal just like zoe does on Saturday and yesterday we went shopping for the things listed in the Green Clean book Helen gave us. I want to try and make some of the pickled vegies Stoney had cos its the first time I've seen Nevin eat pickled anything! We have lots of lemons at the moment so I'll have to look for some really good lemon recipies as well. Thanks for your hospitality! Sending our Love, Linda.

Linda - Lemon cake! Really easy.
4oz butter or marge
creamed with
4oz sugar
beat in 2 eggs
Some finely grated lemon rind - depends on how lemony you like it
Fold in 4oz flour
Bung it in a greased tin (or if you are a cheat like me buy the pre-greased paper liners - good for sending a cake to school on cake stall day!)
Bake it at about 190 deg for 30ish mins (or about usual cake baking time)
For the top squeeze out the lemon juice and mix in enough icing sugar to make a light syrup.
When the cake is baked prick the top and spoon the syrup over it while still hot.
Yummy!

But damn it how happy we'll be!

Thanks for the photo's emailed etc guys we really appreciate it. Lots of happy memories. Yup I think I remember the bag thing was quite deliberate! on Nevs part hehe. Will take my camera down and get the photo's we took organised too very soon. Been having a rough time with Jet lag and then on top of that someone on the plane home gave me the flu so I've been quite sick and not wanting to leave the house. Feeling lots better now so I will get the photo's organised. Do I have milims permission to post your bananas in pyjamas photo? If not I will understand but I thought it was really cute! Nevin in Jamy's is quite a rare event so think yourselves quite lucky!
