Our front garden has been vandalised!

Got home last night at midnight from a friends (walked back with the dogs) and went to bed.

Got up at about 7.30am, opened the front curtains about 8am and found that 4 trees in our front garden had been sawn down







Obviously happened between midnight and 4/5 am. We've no idea who has done it, or why. No one else's property has been damaged.

Whoever did it was very quiet, as otherwise the dogs would have heard, woken up and barked their heads off (as we know they can do).

We've contacted the police, and got a crime number. They've said they'll make some discreet house to house enquiries, but that's all they can do

Oh M&B that's totaly horrid! And really rather bizzare - why on earth would someone come along and very carefully saw your trees down I really hope they catch who ever has done it it's aweful when your space is invaded like that. Hugs to you both

Thats totally outrageous! Who on earth would do such a thing?!
You really have my sympathies. What sad people there are out there who find entertainment in damaging others property.

How mean, I hope they catch who did it.....anyone on your street the type to get all irate over something like someone elses front garden (you know the sort....nimby middle-englander who´d either shoot someone or suffer a heart attack over a leylandii hedge)?

How awful for you. If the Police do nothing then I suggest contacting your local Councillor.

Far be it from me to point fingers - but have you worked out possible sight-lines? And the potential for your trees to have blocked those sight-lines? In the meantime, you have all my sympathy. Negative IQs are always difficult to comprehend.

Unbelievable Whyever would anyone do such a thing? And who just happens to have a saw on them when they're out? Very strange and such a pretty tree, what a shame.

Thats shocking am really sorry for you. I would contact the local paper to see if they will feature it,might make others more aware & listen out for noises etc,as we havent all got enough to worry about
Our house contents policy covers damage to shrubs & trees so check yours,hopefully it will cover getting some decent sized new ones to replace the damaged ones rather than planting a sapling.
