CC - I'm impressed with your verses! Must be the first time my name is mentioned in a poem...

Great ideas in action
My choice is a power free day ie minimal power use. Battery power would be the only type plus sunlight. Ice-bag for milk etc.
No Sky, internet, cooking, hot washing (clock?),driving.(day off work).

Solar heaven
Good one Jules. I love solar but it is soo.. expensive. We should all get it free from the Government where practicable ie south facing.

What a great idea! Can't think why I didn't read this thread before, I guess I thought it was a Bristol-based meet-up type thing!
I'm going to read my Ish Bible and find something really exciting to do that day
Just hope I've not had to go out to work then!

I think I might be on holiday then - but we are planning on going and staying in a yurt to see whether it's something we might be able to cope with in the future so kind of self sufficientish related!

Re: Self sufficientish Day August 13th
Hmmm - seems like an appropriate time to go foraging for wild fruit. I haven't been blackberry picking since I was a child.
I've also never made any jam so I might have a bash at that. If it's successful I can do some for Yule presents!
Edit: Although, thinking about it, I should really be at work that day so will one of the weekends either side be okay?

Re: Self sufficientish Day August 13th
I'm going to spend a lot time working out how I can be more self sufficient that day. Bit limited in some ways as there are things that the social housing association won't let me do to the flat as they have to let it out again after I leave. But it could be interesting. I'll look at both sides of the ideas that I come up with - the money that I don't have, the savings I can make, the ability that I have (have an aptitude for clumsy) and how much I need to be self sufficient. The how much I need may be the properly interesting outcome of the day.
