from freezer to smoker

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Home smoking and curing by Keith Erlandson will teach you everything you need to know- it will tell you the domensions you need to keep the smoke cool enough etc and also has brines etc.
I was going to make a smoker out of m,y old dishwasher but I am going to build a stone one instead!

HFW's newsletter just arrived. I was idly looking at courses and after a few moments to recover from shock after seeing the prices, spotted this item;-

I've seen filing cabinets done before and very sucessfully.

I fancy an outdoor oven though!

Thats a great link. I really fancy building some kind of outdoor wood burner/cooker too. But it would need to be somewhat portable since I don't want to live here too much longer! I rescued a metal tripod from a skip at college last week (the type used over bunsen burners in chemistry labs!) with a view to making some small scale outdoor cooker with it (yes, clearly i'm insane!) :geek:
