map of the selfsufficientishers

Post: # 10692Post Shirley »

How about a map showing the approximate whereabouts of all the SSISHers?

On my green board we use www.frappr.com and it works quite well - you can put as much or as little info as you want on there - The one thing that I would suggest is not putting in to fine a detail when it comes to your address particularly if you live in a tiny village etc. Putting in your nearest large town might be a safer option. The map is not on the public directory but that doesn't stop non members from looking at it, so it's up to you to decide what you feel safe with.

Alternatively - on another site that I post on, the map is part of the website - downside of that is that all the names that need adding have to be done by whoever wrote the map.

How about it? What do you think Andy?

We have one on the Brittany site I use - which helps a lot to have an idea of where people are when you don't know Brittany very well (like me). However I do know where the English counties are and I've travelled all round Oz and NZ so from my point of view I can already imagine where everyone is. But for those of you in, say Oz, who maybe don't have a clue about English or Scottish counties, it would be a good idea.

veggie one with aubergines and cheese, roast spuds, parsip well nice.

I thought that we could perhaps go a bit further with the map and put down our allotments (if we have one) and if there is any spare on there to help people find one. And perhaps some decent shops ones that sell organics and all that sort of stuff. I think we could have different coloured pins for houses and shops will see.
