When we moved here last November the kitchen (which is enormous) was perfectly functional but cold-looking and very bare with a huge number of blue and white tiles. The first two photos are from when we first looked round the house.
Not wanting to spend much money, OH set to with his supply of scrap pine, medium oak wood dye, a very large tin of Briwax and my acrylic paint box. This is the result. I think the total outlay was about €20. I know it might not be everyone's cup of tea but I love it!
I can´t believe I messed up another post! I can´t even get to the edit button to sort it out. I'm not sure why the words haven´t wrapped properly and the last picture is far too big because the sizes are all identical.
I had intended to say that the kitchen was perfectly functional but very cold looking and bare with a huge expanse of blue and white tiles. I also wanted to say the whole financial outlay was about €20 and a lot of time, scrap pine, wood dye and Briwax plus practically all of my acrylic paints set. Also that although it might not be everyone´s cup of tea but I love the result.
I´m also not sure how our kitten managed to get herself onto the last picture!
You've done a great job. I love the herb pots around the cooker, right where you need them. Having all your pots and pans within reach is such a great idea too.
The cat is proudly showing off her great new home.
awesome, you have inspired me. I have a space that will be a large kitchen and NO budget.
We had a small cottage, then the bloke next door moved out and we bought it, which was handy because we had just had twins! so we have 2 small cottages but no money to do them up, apart from what I earn, which is up and down (freelance IT) We still have the small kitchen and toilet/shower from the original house. where we want the big kitchen there was a kitchen and bathroom in the other house, the wall has been knocked down and most of the kitchen cupboards are still in place, we are recycling has much has we can get away with but all electric and plumbing need to be redone. but there is hope!!
