We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hello from London

Post: # 120851Post StripyPixieSocks »

Hello!

I was sure I had joined this forum before but I must have just imagined it!

Well, I live in a first floor flat in London and am at the beginning of a long journey into being more and more self-sufficient. Yes, It's difficult in a first floor flat with no garden but as necessity is the mother of invention we are being very, very creative :D

My green fingers have kicked in big time lately... ironically two years after I left a huge garden and moved to a flat with no garden so I'm making do with herbs in window boxes... the neighbours must be completely bemused :D

That's all for now, hope to glean some knowledge on keeping my black thumbs at bay and hopefully pass on anything I learn in the process of becoming self-sufficient-ish

Thanks for the welcome :) I've learned alot already... what a brilliant place :D

Unfortunately I'm an ex-Cheshire girl and I still have the Cheshire accent (my Mom would be cross if I lost it lol) been here 2 years after moving in with my OH! Apart from the lack of garden I love this place despite it's craziness of late!

Hello Stripy :flower:

we live in London too in the smallest bedsit possible ! I bet your window boxes will look fab we have a very small strip of concrete outside the back door !! and yet we have lettuce (in cut down milk cartons , painted it mad colours) and radishes, tomatoes, endives, herbs, pok choi and strawberries in various pots and inside our bedsit a pepper plant . thinking of having potatoes in an old bin next year it is amazing what you can fit in a little space. :cat:

Hola and welcome!

Solidarity for small growing spaces! I've got a balcony to colonise with various plants. Chilli is doing well! Although it may have to come inside for the winter.
