We live in a village that is trying very hard to be a town.

I live in a hamlet but you don't have any options for hamlet or 'in the middle of nowhere'!

I live on a dirt road that has a couple of other houses on it somewhere up the road (about a mile outside the nearby village) - what does that count as
When I was young people called me a hippy. Now I'm a bit older I'm just called environmentally aware..... that's progress!

"rus in urbis" is all I can answer to that.

Officially we live in the City of Matsuyama, but it used to be its own city until recently, and it was never a real city anyway. It's mostly rice fields, orange plantations, and a few houses dotted about, with no centre to it at all. So it is, as the Romans say, "the countryside in the town", although I don't think that's quite what they meant when they said it.

We do however have all the shops and facilities we need within cycling distance, so it's the very picture of heaven for me.

A village in North Northumberland - typical of all the other god forsaken rat holes with horrid residents! The houses are nice, the countryside is nice but the people are aweful! As sson as I can work it I want to move - somewhere with sunshine and no neighbours!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Have almost always lived on the edge of a big city. When I lived right in the city, I've always missed the breathing space and the green. Would like to be a bit more out in the country. Being on the edge of a big city is convenient, if still congested. Friends in the country drive hours to do what takes me a hour or two for the whole trip. But, they get to look at nature instead of buildings, and listen to birds instead of cars. They see stars instead of lights.

:flower: Hi ya well I live in the inner city of London in the smallest bedsit ever , but originally from Lincolnshire I miss the fens and wolds where my grandad was a farm foreman , he had to use chemicals on his bosses land but his own garden was organic from back in the 50's, he simply believed and trusted in nature and was not going to go against it in his garden. Good times  Nobbut a Yellerbelly

Town, but part of the general suburban sprawl that is the south-east. Grew up in a village with only about 50 people.
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?
