Public nudity under examination
In Donostia (aka San Sebastian) people have been taking their rights to limits as far as the right wing PP party are concerned.
DonOastia allows nude bathing on their beaches, locals have taken this to heart. They now make their way to the beach stark naked, either walking or riding bicycles.
The beach rules are made by the beach authority, the town rules by the town council. No-one knows if it is illegal according to the letter of the law. Surprisingly matters of public nudity are legislated by the local town. In principle there could be a town or village where once you cross the city line, everyone could walk naked if they so chose. This is not an option that I am aware of in the UK!
The debate is on: They are not behaving like your traditional exhibitionist or flasher. They are just going about their business of visiting the beach, starting the journey as they mean to end it. Essentially breaking no local laws. There is no law saying you can't walk nude in the street. The law says more or less that you must not startle people by exposing yourself .
The PP would have these people arrested and fined at the very least. Funnily enough the PP (Popular Party) do not live up to their name in the Basque country, so their protest does not swing as well as the nudists do with the locals.
So far the jury is out, can this outrage continue, or are the devout nudists going to be caught be the short and curlies?

Yup, that is a real picture of a real person taken last week in DonOstia.
