I was in Wyevale garden centre (Crowland, nr Peterborough) today and they have a seed sale on. All seeds, flowers, veg, herbs etc are 50P a packet. All well known brands like suttons, unwins & thompson and morgan. I spent £8.50 and I've got over £35 worth according to the prices on the back of the packets.
I'm not sure if this is just a local thing or if the whole chain is doing it but it might be worth a look.
I got:
Artichoke
Bean (Runner)
Beetroot
Broccoli
Celeriac
Corn Salad
Courgette
Cucumber
Dill
Leek
Lettuce (Ice King)
Marjoram
Pea (Mangetout)
Sage
Sweet Basil
Thyme
Plus a hand full of flowers.
All I have to do now work out where to put it all!

Wyevale in Derby had the same offer. They were largely picked over though, so you seem to have been lucky.

Oh yes indeed!
This is where I get all my seeds from, though they can be a bit random.
I think I blagged £58 worth of seeds for about £6 this year.
I notice this year it's all gone up to 50p a pack, and last year it was only 25p : the chislers!
