Finally here!

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Well - I'm in the US - and I stumbled upon this site (literally - through the online tool called "Stumble"!) but kept it because its in keeping with the direction my own site is going - namely - thinking of tiny ways to make the world a better place. Mine is a fledgling site - and isn't all there yet... LOL! But it's coming.

In the meantime - while I discarded a gazillion plastic bags because I've already got too many - I thought it was a great idea to "bring a bag" BACK to the supermarket - anything not to keep dragging home the plastic that clutters my house... if its doing that to my house, and I'm just feeding a small family - I hate to think what its doing to the world, trying to feed billions of people... :o

Hello QT.

Unfortuantely, you're stuck with Margo for a while. It's a quaint tradition around here, based on the characters in an old UK sitcom about a couple struggling to become self sufficient, and their neighbours, who just don't get it. Keep posting, and after a while, you'll go through all the characters.

You can also have your own avatar underneath, though some people experience problems uploading it, like you describe. If you have your own webspace (or a photo album, for example), upload it there first, and then enter the URL in the appropriate box on your profile page.
