Hello everybody!
What a great website i have stumbled upon!

Mainly here to get a few tips and pointers on where to start in my new garden...just moved in and the place has a conservatory and a garden at back but the landlord has gravelled over it!container planting i guess it is!

It's really lovely to read what some people have done with their space, inspiring stuff!
Hope to become a regular here and learn some more.My husband i only have lemon balm and basil at the moment,we shall soon cure that eh!Just thought i would say a quick hello from Wales :sunny:

Hiya Zizi, welcome to the Ishers!

Well, with a conservatory at least you've got somewhere to grow your tomatoes...

Hi and welcome.

If you haven't already found it, we have a thread about plants that grow well in containers http://www.selfsufficientish.com/forum/ ... =29&t=5206. Check out some of the other 101 uses for threads as well as there were some great ideas for free containers.

I love my conservatory. You are lucky having one. Watch how cold it gets in winter but you should be able to grow citrus trees, peppers (both chilli and bell grow well in mine), tomatoes, aubergines and cucumbers. I did manage to get a small melon to grow in mine a couple of years ago but haven't had much luck since.

Cheers
Zoe
