Is this normal?

Post: # 124684Post mrsflibble »

I've never known a toddler who eats much. my brothers and sister were very fussy and ate like birds.

soph is eating like a horse right now. she's eating loads and has been for the last few days. not sign of worms lol!!! but is it normal for toddlers to eat liek this?!

thurs:
breakfast: peanut butter 2 slice sandwich no crusts.
snack: two party rings
lunch: whole tine asda great stuff kid's beef ravioli, two mini fromage frais
snack: half an apple, knob of cheese
dinner: cottage pie, new potatoes, green beans. pudding was a home made brownie.
snack: two more fromage frais.
drinks of squash, milk, water.

Fri:
breakfast: chocolate spread sarnie, 1 slice. two fromage frais (she never has just one!)
lunch: sausage roll
snack: kinder egg (it's not been a good day hahaha!), grapes, knob cheese.
dinner: almost a whole saveloy, large amount of chips (we just chucked the pack on the floor and let the kids help themselves at tea's house), some fried cod, more grapes, some roast chicken.
snack: 1 fromage frais (omg! only one!) more roast chicken, slice of ham, more grapes, 2 slices of apple, home grown tomato and finally one party ring.
drinks: mostly water today, 1/3pt milk before bed.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

Hmmm...not eating crusts suggests that this is perfectly normal. On the other hand she did eat the saveloy, which is a tad concerning

Growth spurt - is she sleeping more than usual?

Wow, I'm sending Ellis down to your house! How fantastic to have such a good eater...at the moment Ellis will only eat apples, sultanas and my fruitcake, with the occassional fish-finger if he's feeling really daring.
Pretty much everything she's having is good, healthy stuff so I wouldn't be in the slightest bit concerned. Ellis eats similar amounts (though not nearly as varied) when it's growth-spurt time. The easy way to spot a growth spurt is that it always tends to happen about two days after you've bought new, vital clothes such as winter coats or jeans.
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

Hey honey, start worrying when she stop's eating! I've just looked at the cute picture of her new hat and scarf and not only is she absolutely normal - she's wonderful.

Enjoy her, they don't stop like that for long.

Beth eats like a horse, especially when she is having growth spurts.

breakfast - bowl of cereal
snack - two slices of toast (no crusts)
lunch - pasta/sandwiches/omlette, whatever I am having really.
snack - whole apple and cheese
dinner - whatever we are having
supper - often will have another piece of fruit or similar and some milk

I am sure it is a growth spurt. my son was a fussy eater when he was little, he used to live on marmite sandwiches day after day. But it did him no hram and as he got older he started to try new things and now he is a 6ft strapping healthy 16 year old with a great appetite and will eat almost anything! (except sprouts!) I cant get either of my two to eat them and the only time they do is on xmas day. It is tradition that they have to eat " a sprout" then. :flower:

Yeah sounds like a growth spurt. Next trip will be to the store for bigger shoes! Their feet always seem to grow first. As long as she is staying really active so as to wear off the calories she's taken in I wouldn't worry. Its when kids eat like that and spend all their time in front of the telly there is a problem. Can someone tell me what a party ring is? Never heard of it. Might have a different name here.
Always look for the positive.

Mine used to eat like this..one minute they ate and went out sideways, then the growth spurt came and they shot upwards, it kind of evens itself out in the end, I wouldn't worry
