I have four unripe pumpkins of varying sizes - one is massive, one medium sized and two small. They have been green for ages and show no signs of ripening. I have looked on the internet to see if I could find anything that I could make with them and all that is suggested is pumpkin pie.
I did however find some pumpkin chutney recipies designed for ripened pumpkins - do you think these might work with upripened pumpkins - a bit like with green tomatoes?
Or any suggestions of anything else I could make - I particularly don't want the big pumpkin to go to waste!

Hi,
you could leave them in the window with plenty light as the warmth of the sun and being indoors should ripen them nicely. . .

I tried this with a semi-ripe one that snapped off its stem - the bit that wasn't ripe did ripen but the bit that was already ripe went mushy and I had to throw a lot of it away. Now a bit nervous they are just going to go bad rather than ripen.

Do as above but put a ripe banana with them - gives off some chemical (ethylene oxide I think) that helps fruit to ripen. That's why you shouldn't keep bananas in your fruit bowl!
