Sponsor me, ah go on.

Post: # 129621Post Andy Hamilton »

Right after doing around 450 miles on my bike I could do with a couple more people sponsoring me. It is all for a good cause and here you go if you want to find more.

OK, done that!

I shouldn't think you expected it to be quite so cold this week so I hope you took plenty of woollies! An idea of how your trip is going would be interesting too...

.....Well that has taken you over £100 Andy, Still plenty of room for more donations folks.....

Just think of the stupidity of cycling in this hard weather, the cold, the frost, the hills and roundabouts ( a cyclists nightmare).

Also just think for every turn on the wheel Andy rides 2.08m or it takes 771.16 turns of the wheel to do 1km. If Andy is doing around 600miles then he is actually doing around 742,164.39 full rotations of the wheel.
Surely it deserves more sponsorship from those who haven't contributed yet ??

Such is the great scheme of things. I was going to send Andy my cheque for £30 but then he would have to cash it, it might not go out of my bank " at a good time" like when I had it available, lol and although it was £1.31 in charges and on all the donations it will add up on my donation it was about 4.5%.

Just got the email, Andy - I promise to pop you a cheque in the post (I hate Paypal!!)

Now..... I will be sending the cheque in Euros...... which is good for you, because you get slightly more pounds.....

Anyway, well done you - so.... when's the irish tour then? Huh? Huh??
(I could do with some 1 on 1 advice on how to gear this place up properly for Ishism! )

The total raised is now almost £400! that is far, far beyond what I expected and it means we should be able to make the target of £2500 by February as we hoped for! You lot are amazing thank you all so much.

Ok I am formulating an idea to do something like that. I cycle 50 miles a day for 3 weeks and 3 days. Starting here in Bristol to the next stop within 50 miles where I am offered a bed for the night. Therefore zig zagging all over the place without one particular destination and staying with as many ishers as possible.

Three weeks and three days with 4 rest days traveling 50 miles a day = 1000 miles. This means I could end up in Europe. Its an idea that's formulating and one that I would probally do in the spring/summer just to have that extra light. It really is dependent on where my income comes from next year so if I have the time to do it again.

As for the Paypal thing, if there was another way to accept online payments then I would have jumped at it. So thank you for the cheques!

You could pm me your sort code and account number and then I could transfer the readies by the miricle of t'internet because I am an enthusiastic online banking-type user person.

Most of the UK payments we get come this way.

Looks like you've got two Ishers in the Vendée to visit...could be an excuse for a knees up.
