Being extraordinarily squeamish I am always the one who gets the plum or peach with the maggot in it and even at a restaurant once I had a tiny white maggoty things crawl across my salad... I nearly threw up. I also opened a slightly squishy tangerine once to find it was absolutely chock full of maggots... I didn't eat any of the above for years and years.

I'm a wuss too and I never but never bite into any fruit that is 'home grown' because of the risk of grubs! I even cut my strawberries in half because I once found a maggot in the centre of one!
