What's for dinner?

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Egg and chips (my mother makes the best chips in the whole world!) and strawberries and custard - unusual but very pleasant.
My mother bought the strawberries for my birthday dinner but we didn't eat them. Unfortunately we supped all the cream in coffee.

Last night I followed a french recipe for potimarron quiche. Potimarron is a type of pumpkin which is less sweet and has a chestnutty flavour.

It was OOOOOOKKKKKKKKK ish. Wouldn't make it again though. Now I've got half of it left. Hmmm.

Fantastic thread that I look forward to looking through when I'm not just about to dash off on the school-bloody-run.

Tonight the flesh-eaters are having sea bass fillets pan fried in egg & breadcrumbs and the veggies are having sausages oven cooked in baked beans and passata. With that we're all having new potatoes and peas & sweetcorn.

Tomorrow we're having chicken thighs/Quorn fillets in peppers, with rice and veg, and I'll do double to stick a load in the freezer.

Tonight is probably going to be veggy burger with cheese in a wholemeal pitta with chips (and more cheese)

OH has been away all week :( and I can't be bothered cooking anything properly for myself.

Got some rabbit for the weekend tho! :rabbit:

Tonight I am going for Spag Bal..... again... It has been simmering on the stove all day.
E has been fussy the last few weeks so I am going to stick to her favourites for 3 or 4 nights a week and slowly re-introduce the other stuff.

We were going to have a chicken (haven't had one in 6 months *salavate, salavate*) but the inlaws couldn't come over and it doesn't seem worth it for just the 2 of us :?

We bought a belly pork joint to make bacon with, but didn't get round to it. So last night we had sunday lunch - roast pork and all the trimmings - a real treat for a thursday night.

Tonight I fancy rice so I'm not sure what I'll do, probably a risotto. It's very wet and windy up here today so I want something warm and gooey!.

Last night we had Greyes grannys cheese pudding - you must all try it - it's fantastic and really easy to make - with roasted veg. We are really lucky - one of the teachers is the wife of a veg farmer so every week we order fresh from the farm veg. Tonight is mince with leeks and dumplings, carrots, turnip, curly kale and broccoli - all from the farm. Yummy!
