Things to do list - Whats on yours

Post: # 132452Post Andy Hamilton »

I have found that I work much better with things to do lists and thought I would share mine with you. I often prioritize mine and so have 3 lists. Sometimes they tomorrow list is much fuller. The ongoing list has been the same for about6 months to a year and the dream list has not changed for the last 3 or 4 years.

List for tomorrow.

1. Write article about Yarrow for ish
2. Write another budget living article
3. find out how to register a co-operative.

Ongoing list

1. Sort out better loft insulation
2. fix bannister after drunkenly putting head through it.
3. Finish plan for next years allotments and buy seeds (just taken on a new one so it is allotments)

Dream list

1. Move to dream house/community
2. Open organic pub
3. Grow old happily
First we sow the seeds, nature grows the seeds then we eat the seeds. Neil Pye

I too have those ongoing lists!!! With winter almost here (only have about 6 inches or so of snow at the moment!) listing goals/projects for the New Year ahead helps it pass a little more quickly--at least the dreaming/planning part helps!

#1 chickens!!!!! (any favs to recommend by the way?)
#2 goats!!! (ditto)
#3 plan garden 2009
#4 learn to be a better bread maker (hints would be greatly appreciated!)
#5 become more disciplined with letter writing (I have MANY penfriends!)
#6 actually cook many of the dishes I've been meaning to (the recipie file is huge!)
#7 lose a "few" pounds!!!!!!!!!!!
#8 paint the kitchen cabinets
There are many more "to do's" but this is a start!!! :flower:

i always want to start a to-do list...and then i forget. Maybe this is the perfect opportunity!

1. Put away clean washing
2. Clean dirty wasing
3. Print out form for BGG tickets
4. Get nik to send a copy of her student id for BGG tickets
5. Sort out bank accounts (i want t change...long story involving them not letting me have my own money...).
6. pack for next weekend
7. get train tickets for next weekend.

I think that's it for this week...at the moment...

My lists include everything to do with moving out at the moment - and I got seriously behind over the last few days due to weather...

So, today - see if I can get the car off the premises. And the see again. Pack every box I can lay my hands on; if the snow keeps going back, I might even be able to make a start at tidying up the garden.

If I started a list I'd probably end up being more depressed than I am now...

But... for today:

Make a start of decoupage-ing my storage box (already started... currently covered in white acrylic... the box has some on it too  )

Tomorrow:

Wait for the plumber to bother turning up... only two months since the pipes started sounding like a tuba player has moved into the flat below *sigh*

Finish decoupage-ing my storage box and have a sort out of the stuff in it and make it all nice and organized (HA... organized yeah right)

Put on two wine kits for Christmas

Make appointments with GP's, Specialists and Therapist (Oh the joy)

Do a bit more knitting

Tidy up the flat in dribs and drabs (as long as I can stand up without too much pain)

Call my CAB / Debt adviser to see if she has made any more progress with things

Bake some bread

...

Of course there's a hundred and one ongoing things to be done:

Kitchen is half decorated as when we were much better we stripped off the wallpaper and the plaster came off with it so we had to get the plasterer out who messed the job up and had to be called out again to make it right... since then it's been bare walls and no cupboards because we're both too ill to do it :pale:

The car needs sorting out... he's got a bit of rust and needs tuning after we put the new distributor in!

The flat in general needs alot of work we can't do physically or haven't got the money for but we can't live in it like it is...

On top of that I'm trying to lose weight and get fit again

Dream list

1. Move to dream house/community
2. Open organic pub - bad commercial idea - too many pubs closing - change your dream
3. Grow old happily should be in the on-going list as it takes work and practice
My list is easy - walk round the flat and do the urgent jobs and then walk down the allotment and do as many jobs as time allows. It's only the dusting every gets out of order.
