Waterproof fire starters

I guess this tutorial was made for survival or some such but it could become an interesting alternative to those white fire lighters that you use for your BBQ etc

Very interesting... well... I thought it was

Interesting
I've used candle ends as fire lighters for years.

On a more simple note - I couldn't say if they are waterproof but they are nice. Pine cone firelighters. Basically a pinecone pushed into a bun case of melted beeswax, and left to cool. Look pretty and smell nice. I have even given them as gifts to friends who have open fires.

ooh the pine cones sound nice.

Dont' bother using the waterproof windproof matches - Nik and i bought some one year to use whilst camping...and they failed. They were waterproof, windproof and lightproof!
