What do you put in your pancakes?

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

My German work colleague brought one into work ... filled with cabage ... and topped with gravy!
Apparantly, it's Bavarian or Austrian (note my colleague is neither), but if it's all the same I'll think I'll be a stick in the mud and keep to the tried and tested.

Never actually tried but there's an idea: pancakes with an habernero jelly filling, or perhaps jalepeno and apple jam? You've got me started now, MMM!

Yuk! But those Southerners do eat some funny things... (Note: I'm from northern Germany. )

We eat pancakes once or twice a week sometimes - and not always for breakfast. I like mine with fresh blueberries and a little bit of syrup. My son eats just plain pancakes.

Pancakse weren't a breakfast thing for us, either - we were more likely to have them for lunch. Maybe with some veggie soup as a first course.

Do you pick wild blueberries? I'm looking forward to that time - must make an effort this year to find the right places!

Not fresh picked but not bought frozen or canned either. I buy a lot of berries in season and freeze them myself though. To me, anything that hasn't been frozen or canned before I buy it, and is still whole, is fresh.
