Lace making anyone?

Post: # 136329Post carolinej »

I just got myself a lace making kit from freecycle.

I tried about 20 years ago, but gave up when my teacher stopped the classes.

I am surprised how quickly it all came back, but it is MUCH harder reading the instructions than being shown how

Does anyone else on here make lace?

Oooo you had it!

My mother and I had the cross stitch things that the same woman was giving away and we did ask if the lace making stuff had been taken

To answer your post, I don't know anything about lace making sorry. Enjoying the cross stitch though!

Caroline, try this site...

I too needed help with some crochet - I knew how to, just forgot a few principles, which isn't bad as I haven't done any crochet for 19 yrs!

Anyway, her instructions are good & she gives the written instructions to each video as well.

Happy lacing :flower:

Are you tatting, crocheting, or something else?

It's bobbin lace. I have put some pics on here. I hope they are big enough for you to see properly. This is something I was working on last night.

Going to try something a bit more adventurous next.

Caroline, that's beautiful. How wonderful you're doing that. I got to watch some ladies tossing those bobbins at the Lace Museum in Brugge. I happened on the museum without knowing what it was. It's an amazing art.
