Before this gets moved to a tree...

Post: # 136894Post JulieSherris »

I thought I'd show you what I made before christmas....

The moss was from the trees in the woods, the fir branches were from one of our trees & the holly was taken from one of ours as well - the bits were salvaged from the deccy box & the ring was last year's plastic one!

It's looking a bit ravaged now & the birds have been at the holly berries, but I'm going to move it onto a tree in the garden....

That's really festive.

Who's a cleaver girl?

Ours had to hang on the gate as our over-the-door thingy won't go over the nasty plastic door. :(
It's a plastic monstrosity, bought from Cleeneezee (or how ever it's spelt!) for us about ten years ago and has probably seen it's last festive season so will revamp for 2009...watch this space. Won't be as good as yours though, Julie

Ha! But it will be if I send you over some greenery at the end of the year

The holly trees in the derelict garden were absolutely hanging with berries & ignored by the birds (?) I thought maybe they didn't like the Laurel which the holly is growing with?

But for the branches, moss & holly sprigs, I can certainly package & send with no probs.... you can supply your own pretties

I made two Christmassy table decorations with all sorts of greenery from the garden all stuck into oasis. I was very proud of myself as I'm absolutely NOT any good at flower arranging and this is only the 2nd time in my life I've ever attempted anything like this.

Can't really see very well in the photos but there are various fake berries and sprayed silver or gold pine cones and things like that stuck in amongst the real greenery - mostly stuff that's been hanging around in the decorations box for decades!!!

I wanted to make a wreath but just didn't find the time (nice-ish weather before Christmas so I went to the allotment a lot). I was going to make the ring using grape vines and wrap ivy around it and finally poke bits of other evergreen things through it. Now I've written it down I think it's a good job I didn't get round to it. Sounds horrendous compared to yours.

Well done, Julie!

MMM,

Your deccies are brill!

I love your deep sills too, can't help thinking "that'd fit a seed tray length-ways"! Must be the sap rising or summat!

The sills are fantastic for raising toms, chillies, sweetcorn etc etc etc!! And there's still room for the cat to sunbathe!
