JulieSherris, My Dad gave my daughter (3) a mini mouse which is a usb plug in designed to use with a laptop. Its about 8cms long and 4-5cm wide. As soon as we plugged it in, she was able to click and drag, which she couldn't do before, and is able to play her favourite game involving guiding a little boy to pull up veg in his garden (v. cute!)
It has mini optical mouse written on the bottom and the initals BCL on the front hope this is of some help to you.

Re: Shortie Cardigan
Thanks for the tips. I'll have a look for that Stitch and bitch book and see if the instructions are any easier to follow! The book I've got is an ancient old Readers Digest needlework book that I picked up in a charity shop and although it does have instructions for left handers its only for straight knitting. It does suggest looking at the other diagrams for different stitches in a mirror but I'm afraid that confuses me! If only I'd paid more attention to my Nan when she was alive. She could knit a child's jumper in about an hour, her fingers were just a blur!

Oh really pretty cardigan , is crochet easy?I can sew clothes and I am knitting my first scarf at the moment but if crochet is easier I might have a go.

ok it's american crochet, but so long as you remember the different stitch names you will be ableto translate patterns in no time.

I recently got a book from the library called The Ultimate Knitting Bible - it's fairly new I think. Very clear pictures and loads of different options - I had no idea there were so many ways of casting on or holding the kneedles. It also has some basic crochet instructions at the back.
I had to return it before I'd made much use of it, but it is on my birthday wish list!
