my first scarf!

Post: # 140837Post bryony »

Well, when I first signed up to the 'ish i said i wanted to learn to knit, and I've finally completed my first ever knitted item! It's nothing complicated or exceptional, but I'm proud of it

This is the first time i've tried to post an image too... fingers crossed...

Also, a quick question, I'm struggling to find somewhere to buy wool nearby, does anyone have any recommendations for good online shops?

Onwards and upwards in the world of knitting! :toothy10:

that scarf looks absolutely FAB, my compliments!!
hope you will continue knitting lovely things like that and learn every time you make an item.

online you will find plenty of shops no problem there.
some charity shops also sell yarn at bargain prices and there is ebay which can also be a great resource.
and some of our online members do spin yarn (red, me, and some others I don't know the names right of) if you are looking for something unique ;)

That's really your first effort?
It's got a pattern and everything!

ooh thanks for the lovely comments! it's just a basic stitch i learned from you tube, but done on massive needles.

hmmm might try some hand spun yarn when I've had a bit more practice, I like the thought of making something unique.

Im going to try to make some more complicated items, it's so encouraging to have all your support. hooray for ish!
