He is when people come to the house they are visiting him you know.

When he was a pup we had 2 sofas and he used to whiz round the room and sofas like a bob sleigh on a course, but he has calmed down a tad now.

Hi Lynne

There seems to be lots of us Brits in Sweden - why do we put ourselves through it! We like you still have a meter of snow and -10 daytime and -20C nightime temperatures, although they have promised the ossibility of a couple of days of plus degrees at the weekend.

Good luck - you'll need it!

Simon

Oh btw I am living a bit outside Karlstad

Min svenska är OK! I have lived here for 2.5 years now so I can get by. All the freebies that you can get from the forest is always a good bonus as well! Nothing better than meatballs with Canterall sauce and lingon jam.

Det är svårt att lära sig svenska. Även mina svenska kompisar tänkar att svenska är ett svårt språk och vill gärna prata engelska om jag känner mig för lat att prata svenska. Har ni gått till sfi än?

Sorry folks, no more Swedish on this forum

I have finished my SFI and planned to go on to Swedish as a Second Language but I then got a job in a Garden Centre and have been there ever since. Its a bit expensive working in a garden centre - I think my wife is getting a bit fed up as I come home from work at least once a week with something or other that I can't life without!

Hi LynneBee,

A belated welcome! Looks like I've not been on the forum for a few days - don't know where that week went.

I'll stop complaining about the 10cm snow I've still got on my garden immediately, after reading what you are coping with. Makes me laugh here, when I hear on the weatherforecast "harsh frost expected, down to -1c"!!! They have no idea what real frost is.

And "A very cold day indeed" forecasting highs of 5 or 6C. That's not cold!

I'm a newbie in Sweden too!

Hej! I'm an American living in Stockholm. My husband's Swedish and I've been here a year. I'm in a Swedish as a Second Language course now.

We recycle a lot of things, more than we throw away. Its quite easy here. We also compost through our kommun. I also tend to find interesting things in the recycling room in my apartment complex, a great way to reuse things.

I'm also planning on buying a solio for charging my phone and ipod. (www.solio.com)

I live on the 9th floor so all the gardening I'd like to experiment with is in containers. I have a mini orange tree and some basil growing. I have also started chives, dill, leek, oregano, parsley, thyme and tomato from seed indoors. Only a few of each. I'm hoping to move most of it outside if spring ever comes. (there was light snow today)

I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks and thought I should join. I am excited about learning more!
