where to get apples for free
Anyone have any ideas where I can get 8lbs of apples for free? I want to make cider but it is the wrong season for apples and i have limited funds this month! If you have any suggestions where i can get apples for cider for free, let me know

You could always try a "wanted" on Freecycle ?

Can't imagine that you'll get any free at this time of year - unless someone stored their own. Most apples won't store till march. Wait til next month you can make nettle beer instead

Wait
In October and I am sure you'll get plenty for free.

Ask at local veg shop, as they often throw bruised ones away...

sept-nov, bridge stree, noak bridge, basildon. just as you enter the village from the direction of the a127, there is a green to the left. in the centre is a prolific apple tree. the apples are great for cooking and would probably be wonderful as cider.
down the other end of the village, just in the bridge street entrance to the nature reserve is a large pear tree, but you'll need a walking stick to get pears down lol!!
i no longer live there, but we'd get so much free fruit from that place cos it was all within walking distance of our old flat!
erm.... might be a bit far form you though, and totally the wrong time of year.....
