Yes that is pretty much how it is explained in my book. Only I should have read it first! :lol: For the redcurrants though you do have to actually prune them to form that shrub type of bush so a book is a good idea - but try googling cos there might be some sites out there with diagrams. I should mention that my book says to prune redcurrants the same way as gooseberries.
