Hi from Limerick

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hi from Limerick

Post: # 146718Post Siena »

Hi,

I'm a 24 year old student with dreams of some kind of self sufficiency type thing. I have 8 hens and a Welsummer rooster at the moment and am getting a few pigs (thinking of middle whites) in a couple of weeks time all going well. We're hoping to plant potatoes next weekend also if the weather keeps up.
That's me anyway. I've been looking around this site before and thought it was great to have so much advice in one place.

Looking forward to learning lots anyway.

Thanks,
Siena

Should count myself more fortunate

Post: # 147292Post Siena »

I know I'm very lucky sleepyowl. Although the land isn't really mine it belongs to my father but he doesn't use it intensively. (He keeps horses) So he doesn't mind if I steal a bit here and there

I forget how lucky Ii am to have that often most of the time. I see so many people here would just love more room to expand their ish empires so I really should so more with what I have access to.
