Carrots and stones

Carrots and stones
To what extent should i be removing stones to sow carrots? I have single digged and weeded so far and that took 3 hours!!

I have quite stoney soil and I only remove the stones from the actual row where I sow the seeds (same for all veg) so they don't prevent them germinating. It's not worth worrying about as there will always be some carrots that fork or grow wonkily but that's normal!

ive got no problem with peeling wonky carrots. i see beauty in the imperfect!! lol. i've just done what u said, MMM, cleared them on the top in their row. thanx!

Yep, as old as I am, the '3-legged' carrots still make me giggle uncontrollably - especially if the centre 'leg' is larger than the other two....Millymollymandy wrote:No probs! Let's hope your carrots grow beautifully in lots of interesting shapes!
