I thought he was a Lord on the labour benches rather than having been elected an MP - and most people wouldn't know him for being a politician.
He is famous for being a fertility expert (and has about 5 degrees and is currently professor at Imperial College) - he helped to develop IVF treatments amongst other techniques, he has also hosted loads of documentaries on the BBC about babies - 'Child of our time' is probably the biggest flagship program he has been involved with.
I was just trying to pick someone different from the regular entertainment bunch - sorry you thought I was misleading, I was consulting Wikipedia for most questions.
