Have you made something and want to show it off? This is the place for your photos or just talk about the things that you have made or would like to make. All crafts from knitting and crochet to woodwork, in fact anything that you have made!
i need to show a back picture of this cardi... and I need to press it, but i have no idea how to press a garment with such a high proportion of wool (erm, yeah RussianDoll, you were right, it's mucho-wool-o)
and this is frank. she's a mouse, made from left over cotton baby yarn. her dress is also cotton and was made using an unfeasibly small hook. bear in mind she stands under 4" tall......she's the first ever "normal" animal I have made which hasnt ended up looking like some experiment gone wrong.

MrsF that is a lovely cardy! May I ask where you got the pattern? I've been looking for a crocheted cardigan pattern that I actually like, it's turned out to be more difficult than I had imagined, but I REALLY like that! If possible, would you mind sharing the pattern or the book it came from?
Sorry Damekiri, I didn't use a pattern. I started the cardigan from the happy hooker crochet book but i hated the stitch within a few rows so i unpicked it and started again from my head.
this was as many stitches as it took to go from one hip to the other, round my bum, as many rows as it took to get up to my armpits, then it was gathered slightly, then i did rows to my nape, decreasing and increasing to shape the armholes. i then made the front yolk type area by stitching direcly onto the shoulders and down to below the armpits (again shaping to match the back arm-shapes) and also shaping for the neck-hole. Then i made the front panels separately, big rectangles 1/2 boob-width x armpit-bottom of back length. these were then sewn on.
then i added sleeves, hated the sleeves, unpicked them and re-did them. I could only be bothered doing 3/4 length sleeves but i am keeping some of the yarn just in case i wasnt to unpick the frill and make them full length. i worked them in circles in the armholes i had made.
then i made the button holes, edged all round the thing with dc stitches, (if you are in the USA that's an sc) added a little dc panel to reinforce where the buttons would be situated, got a bit bored and made a heart shaped pocket, and finally frilled the collar.
hope this helps!!
