Hello all.
Am having the same problem I had last year. Put my sprout seeds into a seeed tray and in no time at all they poked their heads up into the big scarey world. they rapidly shot up to around 3 inches tall and then they've all just keeled over. It's as through they can't support their own weight. Now they are reclining across the soil of the seed tray, the first leaves on most of them look healthy but surely they should be standing a little more up right?
The seed tray is kept indoors in a S facing window and watered when it feels dry.
Any ideas of what I should do and what the problem is?

Re: Sprout droop
Sounds like they need more light.

Re: Sprout droop
this can be a problem with all cabbagey seedlings..
as soon as they germinate, get them somewhere with more light.. and then get then outside as soon as you feel they can take it.. they need to get strong against the elements.. if they are mollycoddled in safe enviroment. they get straggly then fall over.. in my experience.

I had the same problem with my greenhouse grown broccoli/calabrese seedlings. I potted them on and planted the seedlings a little bit deeper in their new pots. This seems to be OK as long as you don't over water them - which could cause the stems to rot.
