It's been a strange one. I've had the quiet kind of birthday I like, but I was told that my work contract isn't being renewed. When my head of dept et al heard they were gutted! So I feel sad that I'm not going to continue in a job that I've really enjoyed but happy that I'm appreciated! Funny isn't it that a negative situation can actually make you feel quite good! 
Glad there's more like me who are proud to announce their age. Another year wiser!
