Honest mistake - sorry
Somewhere on this board I have said on at least one occasion that milk and eggs are the only foods that are alkaline and that all the rest are acid. It seems the article I read that gave me that information was massively incorrect, for not only is most milk and egg yolks slightly acidic (I think, according to my new source
will get the litmus paper out), but there are other foods that are alkalines. Unfortunately, I never bothered to check the facts in the article until now.
I can't remember what I was talking about at the time, and most of you probably don't remember or didn't see it, but just in case someone has read and believed what I said, I feel the need to correct myself. If anyone gives a stuff, here's a link.
Sorry about that.

That's quite an interesting list, cos tomatoes which I've always thought were reknowned for being acidic, aren't as low as some things such as apples which I never realised were acidic at all! Not that it really matters, I don't quite know why we need to know the pH of food - is it for certain diets or something? (I don't remember you mentioning pH of food before anyway!)

Nothing to do with diets as far as I'm aware. I just like playing with litmus paper
I think I might have mentioned it in relation to soap nuts, and perhaps soaking pans that have been used for warming milk, and possibly using composted food scraps to raise the ph of soil... I really can't remember. I can't even remember where I first read the incorrect information, I just remembered what I thought was useful to me. I think I felt the need to come clean on this mistake just in case someone has read what I have written and started pouring milk on the brassicas or something
(now I'm sure I read somewhere they like a drink of milk)
