I have absolutely no idea what either of those two objects are though the first looks like some kind of dibber, but well done for the woodworking which looks great!

Love the bodgers bench, hoping to make one next year when i have more time so i can have another shot at bowyer work.
Do you work with a steam box at all - wooden pitchforks, scythe snath etc. ?

My freind has a steam box for bending his chair parts, its a coopered construction as per an old one we saw in a museum, works really well compared to our metal version, frozenthunderbolt wrote:Love the bodgers bench, hoping to make one next year when i have more time so i can have another shot at bowyer work.

I have made quite a few longbows from time to time for our local club but haven't tried bending the ends of the bow past the Beucanons dip, they have always worked well in a natural length, but I might try it one day.
If you want any plans for the bench please let me know, the ratchet pawl and rack can be a bit tricky to work out the arc,
For the bowyers work I use a pattern makers vice and do it standing up as you get a better control of the shave,

A normal vice is no good for grabbing tapered object like a longbow, that price at Axminster is very good, old ones fetch more than this one.
I will draw some plans out in Solidworks when I get a spare moment.
