Hi and welcome! Plenty of time to get lots of things in, all the salad stuff, french beans, not sure about runners but worth a try. It rather depends on whether your allotment is ready to be planted straight away or if you've got to tackle an overgrown jungle first!

Welcome to ISH
If you don't need all the space straight away, (for all the above ideas), you could always so a green manure.

Thanks for all the welcomes received. Have been non stop on my plot and with some help from the plot holders around me can now look forward to eating something this year! Next step is chickens in my garden.
Thanks again

Hiya Worcesterboy - a slightly belated welcome from me...
Are you allowed to keep chickens in your allotment?

Hello Ina
The council dont let us keep chickens at the allotments i have checked with them and there is nothing preventing me from having them in my back garden though. All i need now is the coop and the birds!

Very good of the council... Maybe I should make enquiries about the one here?!
