I note that my pepper plants have side-shoots like tomatoes - should I pinch them out or leave them?

Oh good, it's not just me finding them slow growing this year.

I don't pinch them out, just let them do their thing. Mind you, I kept forgetting to pinch out the tomatoes last year as well, so it might be more about my laziness then any gardening strategy!

No don't pinch them off! Sometimes I see instructions that tell you to pinch out the main stem in order to get the side branches but they always do it of their own accord.
