Andy - it was just posts to go through to read for myself. Never thought about the moderator bit! Anyway, shouldn't moan, it's great that the forum is so busy these days.

I did wonder if that was what you meant. Just making sure that I am not being forcing too much work onto anyone.

Not at all, I read most stuff but I'm not interested in the eco parenting stuff (obviously, not being a parent!). I'd suggest you put a Mum as a moderator on there - I see it is just you at the moment.

How are we doing on the spam at the moment? I deleted something about a week or so back but haven't seen anything much at all in the last month or two.

can I just make a plea regarding the eco parenting section. You don't need to be a parent to make useful contributions to the posts in there, and in fact I think very often non-parents can make the best suggestions - something to do with not seeing the wood for the trees...

But I might be tempted to repeat phrases I grew up with, and firmly believe in:-

Children should be seen and not heard!
Don't interrupt the grown ups when they are talking!

and many more

LOL M3 - you think we stop saying those things when we become parents?? Maybe we just stop believing that saying them will have any affect

Its kind of a right of passage for parenting......you catch yourself saying what your mum/dad said.....
"I can't hear the words to that song"
"It wasn't like that in my day"
"I remember when this was all open fields"
".....and you had enough change for a loaf of bread/pint of beer"

kind thoughts
Deb

Did your parents really use the b*** word in your presence? I thought it was all "don't use that kind of language"!!!

Anyway, this is a phrase which should be used more often, whether for kids or adults.

The worst I heard from my father was - be quiet, you don't understand, you are too young to talk about politics, and anyway, you are a girl. My father did improve a bit when he got older; but I'll never forget that he said that.
