I can get this delivered by the rotary club (or something) - it's "well rotted" - £2.50 a barrow full.... shall I, shan't I????

That sounds ridiculously expensive - is the money going to charity or something? Do you have any stables nearby where you could get a load from? So many horse owners are screaming out for people to take away their muck heaps!

£2.50 is pretty much the going rate as far as I have worked out, in fact I have seen it for sale for a lot more for less!

Yep all proceeds go to charity, and at least it's well rotted.... although I do have contacts for horse manure through the vets, so maybe I'll try them instead... thanks guys

Pity you don't live near me; my mare produces enough to keep Tom Good's generator going single hooved! Where do the Rotary club get the manure from in the first place? Perhaps you can go direct to source?

Mind you, it's all in a good cause isn't it

Just up the road from me, just on the outskirts of town, theres a little holding that put their horse manure in bags and leave at their front gate, free to anyone that wants it...All you have to do is return with the bag....

Its worth taking a trip out and about and see if there is a farm close by that also do this sort of thing...... :flower:

We are now onto filling up our 5th pallet bin of horse muck. Must have about 6 or 7 cubic metres of the stuff slowly rotting at the moment! Thank god for the horsey neighbours.

Missed out on the horse manure because I was ill, so I'm going to do a few phone calls from work and see whose got some of the good stuff going... Gotta sort my compost out over the next couple of weeks, shift some of the really old stuff onto my veggie patch, so if the poo i get isn't well rotted, I can do it at mine...
