)Well I have deceided to advertise in two newspapers here for the next four weeks in the hope of finding something suitable.
There is massive 'regeneration' going on here with huge grants for people to demolish old houses and build new ones, you can get a grant even on a ruin. But you have to completly demolish the older building and put a brand new one up according to 'their' standards and ideas of what a house should consist of, so all the old places are going fast and hundreds of thousands if not perhaps over a million people are in the process of either building or applying for permissions/grants.
This thanks to £80 billion 'peace money' provided by the Clinton admin and £20 billion ditto provided by the EU, and all that money in a country of about 3 million people!
It adds up to huge ecological and environmental disaster. Grants for shopkeepers to get rid of old-fashioned shopfronts and put in modern ones, pulling down all the libraries, collegs etc and building gigantic new ones on the sites. And housing developments springing up everywhere.
So I'm getting more squeezed as a renter, rents are going up to £80 to £100 ounds a week as well. Anyway, I shall keep trying, who knows, I might get lucky.
