The worst think I've found in a washing machine was last week dirty laundry.

oooh no, i can beat that!

When i was at Uni, i put in a load of dirt washing, including underwear and socks. The thing filled with water...and then stopped. Just water...no washing powder...for 10 days until the landlord came round and fixed it.

That was horrible!!

mine is currently sat in my kitchen with water in it, and half a load of washing which has begun to honk as it's not been drained since friday.

This morning, I found a black beetle amongst my washing. Seems I'm trying to clean up the insect life around here... :?

   @ Money laundering!!

The other day I noticed my freshly washed load smelt a bit iffy  I pulled it all out and a skinless, half-rotted pig's trotter dropped onto the ground. :puke:
We'd killed 4 pigs about 3 weeks prior and the dogs were given the trotters...they must have wrapped them in one of my towels for safe keeping.

A quick tip for those people who have washing stuck in machines which won't empty. Pull the machine out and locate it's water outlet pipe. If you're lucky it'll just have been shoved into the plastic waste pipe. Carefully pull it out and lower it down into a washing up bowl.

Hopefully, the water will drain out of the machine without having to do anything else. Once all the water has drained, the door lock should release and you'll be able to get your washing out.

It's not always the case with every model but it's worked for me on at least three different machines so it's worth a try.

Cheers
Zoe

Ta for the tip - i didn't dare to try and empty it in the rented house, my landlord was an arse anyway who didn't particularly like me (i didn't fawn over him and try to get him to 'put shelves up in my bedroom'), so if i'd broken the machine, god knows what would have happened!
