Newbie.
Hello, I'm a newbie from Orkney. Love the look of this site and will recommend it to all my friends. There will be lots of questions coming your way as I'm a gardening novice, if things grow well then it's by their own strength and not because of my efforts!

I live on the mainland of Orkney and have done for 15 months now. We fell in love with the place years ago and when we had the chance to move up, we went for it.
Spiders are cute. My Mum was terrified of them and, as a child, it rubbed off on me. Then one day I saw Mum react to a housespider in her usual way - jumping about shouting etc., - and I just thought 'why'?. Started off with a jar and a bit of card and put them outside but now I pick them up and put them somewhere in the house that's safer for them.
